in order to photograph the BMW, my Contax G2 had to be woken up from its Sleeping Beauty sleep. it is so much more inspiring to shoot with the old analogue cameras. less control and more concentration on each individual shot than 1000 images in a continous stream. 🖤 love it
AI, GYBOW, CGI : AROUND EUROPE FOR ASTON MARTIN DBS VOLANTE
together with my friends from GYBOW we had the pleasure to shoot this brandnew ASTON MARTIN DBS Volante. all shots were done in a studio using the technique of GYBOW to "paint" the reflections and backgrounds. just one shot is done by my stunning CGI artists. guess which one!
I only really realized how unique this opportunity was to be able to film and photograph such a rare carbon sports car icon when Felix and Jenny edited the video and photos in post. in October 2018, Ford presented the latest version of the legendary GT supersports car to the press. this new variant was touted as an intermediate variant between the standard GT and the vehicles in the Competetion Series. as with the standard GT, potential buyers had to apply to Ford to purchase one of these rare vehicles. the name "Heritage Edition" refers to the legendary 24-hour race in Daytona in 1966. at that time, Ford broke Ferrari´s racing dominance with the GT40 and took the first three places in the race. it is understable that Ford would want to capture this very special moment in motorsport history with a special edition.
an Indian Bollywood star, Amit Sadh, three beautiful models, a super great French client and production company, mega cool creatives ... do you need anything more? (ok, I won´t mention the terifying wind!)
I think we all love jobs like this: you get a beautiful car, stunning locations and a team from Land Rover behind you that will fulfill almost any wish you have so that you can do a perfect job. on top of that you have complete feedom in how you do it. sounds crazy? but it´s not a joke!
in addition to the images for advertising the 718 Spyder RS, I was very lucky that Porsche asked me to develop a new, outstanding look witrh Grabarz&Partner. a test balloon, but ... I love it so much. Thx Alex!
in my opion, this car is super cool. main idea of the briefing: "show how irrational this car is". well, doing the car-to-car shooting at around 1°C and drizzling, especially with rear shots when all the dirt from the Porsche in front of you is flying in your face ... not so funny. but somehow it suited this beast perfectly ;)
this job was absolutely unique and I can´t go into all the details here. I´ll just say this: when my customer called me and asked me if I´d like to do this job, the question sounded like a joke. Of course! With these great cars, cool locations, great hotels and food, a lot of freedom in the implementation... you can´t say "no". And then there are such great clients at BMW M ... Please call again!
only around 400 Mangusta vehicles were built in the 1960s. It is a milestone in car design. Unfortunately, unfortunately - and I can now say this from experience - it is very difficult to drive. It is truly beautiful, but a real beast. When it rains, a good life insurance is advisable.
